Fred Schroeder, Partner

As a partner at Philips, Traylor, Myers, Goodin & Schroeder, LLP, Fred brings over a decade of experience to helping his clients navigate the complex legal issues involved in Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, and Guardianship and Conservatorship proceedings.  His experience both in the courtroom, with clients, and in life help him partner with clients to address their individual needs.

Professional Legal Experience: Fred graduated from Lewis & Clark law school in 2007.  While in law school he clerked for the state handling Juvenile Dependency proceedings.  After he graduated law school and passed the bar in 2007, he clerked for Judge Herndon in the Clackamas County Circuit Court.  As a Judicial clerk he observed numerous trials (criminal, civil, and domestic relations) and gained invaluable practical experience in how the courts work.  Fred moved to Bend in 2010 to work for Stahancyk, Kent & Hook; where he was a shareholder from 2019 to 2023.

Practice Emphasis: Fred’s work focuses on Family Law, Divorce, Custody and Parenting Time, Relocation, Child and Spousal Support, Modification and Enforcement litigation, Contempt of Court proceedings and Restraining Orders.  Fred also handles Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, as well as Guardianship and Conservatorship proceedings.

Professional Activities:  Fred is an active member of the Oregon State Bar; the Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook County Bar Associations.

Community Involvement:  Fred has been an active volunteer in the community coaching youth sports and as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

Interests: Fred is an avid sports fan.  He also enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, cycling, and hiking. But most of his free time is spent with his family as he re-experiences the joys of childhood vicariously through his kids.
